Scheduling and Appointments

First, let’s make sure all the details are set. Please double-check your surgery date and time. We ask that you arrive 15 to 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This gives us plenty of time to get you settled and answer any last-minute questions you might have. If you need to make any changes or have a question about your arrival time, just give our friendly office team a call.

In the Days Leading Up to Surgery

A little preparation at home can make a big difference in how you feel after your visit.

Here are a few things to take care of beforehand:

  • Arrange for a Companion: If you are having sedation or general anesthesia, you will need a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you for a while. It’s important for your safety
  • Create a Recovery Space: Set up a cozy spot at home with pillows and blankets where you can rest undisturbed
  • Stock Your Kitchen: Buy soft, easy-to-eat foods like yogurt, applesauce, soup, and smoothies. You won’t want to worry about grocery shopping while you are healing
  • Pick Up Medications: If we have prescribed any medications, please fill them at your pharmacy before your surgery day so they are ready when you need them

The Day Before Your Surgery

Tomorrow is the big day, and we want you to be in the best shape possible. Please avoid drinking alcohol or smoking for at least 24 hours before your procedure, as these can affect how your body handles anesthesia and healing. Try to get a full night of restful sleep so you wake up feeling refreshed. Also, take a moment to confirm your ride home and ensure your companion is ready to help you.

The Day of Your Surgery

We’re here to take great care of you and help you achieve your healthiest smile.

Before your visit, please follow these final steps:

  • Fasting: If you are receiving sedation, it is critical that you follow the fasting instructions we’ve given. Usually, this means no food or drink for a specific time before your appointment
  • Medications: Take only the medications we have approved with a small sip of water
  • Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothes and sturdy, flat shoes. We want you to be as cozy as possible
  • Personal Items: Please leave jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, and makeup at home
  • Hygiene: Brush your teeth and rinse your mouth thoroughly before you come in

Once you arrive, we will handle the rest. If you have any questions or need to reschedule, please give us a call.
